Why Hire a Sleep Coach?
Just over two years ago, I decided I needed a sleep coach. My then 1.5 year old was waking at 5:00am and his naps were all over the place. My husband was not on board with my idea. He thought paying someone to teach our child to sleep was a waste of money. Couldn't we just read a book about it or find some answers on Google? I tried a few sleep training methods, but had trouble with consistency and usually quit after one night. So, after a particularly rough morning, I purchased a sleep package from an sleep consulting company I found online. It changed my life! I spoke with a sleep coach about our issues, my frustrations and my goals for the process. She then created a sleep plan, specific to my son and answered all my questions. The best part was the support she offered. We communicated daily for a week while I implemented the plan. It was so nice to have my own personal cheerleader that also had great knowledge. To this day, I continue to say it was some of the best money I ever spent. And my husband became a believer too!
Not everyone needs a sleep coach. Some people are lucky enough to have children that sleep well naturally. Other people feel confident implementing a sleep training method on their own. But there's another group that feels a bit overwhelmed by the lack of sleep they're getting. They know they need to make a change, but aren't sure where to begin or how to be consistent. This is the group that can benefit tremendously from a sleep coach.
I heard someone say that a sleep coach is like a personal trainer for your child's sleep. Do you need a personal trainer to get healthy/exercise/lose weight? No, but for some people it sure makes the process easier and more successful. That's what I want to do for you and your family when it comes to sleep training. I will help address your child's sleep issues and work with you to create a plan that works for you and your family. Don't want to cry it out? That's just fine! I'll create a plan that involves little to no crying. And I'll be your biggest supporter and source of knowledge as you implement the plan.
